And then Uncle Rob shouts, ‚THERE! OVER THERE! It's a crocodile.‘

Jamie takes my hand.

‚Where?‘ says Alice.

‚Beside the river – there! It's big.‘

We all look. There is a crocodile beside the river. It is lying in the sun.

‚Ohh…‘ says Alice.

Jamie looks at me and then at the crocodile. He doesn't speak. The boat stops moving.

‚Ohh!‘ says Alice again and then the crocodile goes into the water. It moves its tail and swims away. We can see its big head and its eyes, and then it goes under the water.

‚Wow!‘ says Alice. ‚A crocodile.‘

‚Yes,‘ says Aunty Beth smiling. ‚A crocodile.‘ Then she says, ‚Ooh. I'm hot.‘

‚I'm hot too,‘ says Jamie.

‚Then open your mouth wide, like a crocodile,‘ I say. ‚Crocodiles do that on hot days. They open their mouths wide.‘

I open my mouth wide. Jamie laughs and opens his mouth wide too. ‚I'm a crocodile! I'm a crocodile!‘ he shouts.

Everybody laughs and Mum hugs me. ‚Thank you, Susie,‘ she says. ‚You're a good girl.‘

‚And I'm a good boy. I'm a good boy, aren't I, Susie?‘ ‚Yes, Jamie,‘ I laugh. ‚You are a good boy! Now, let's look for more crocodiles.‘

‚And more dragons?‘ he says.

‚Yes, Jamie,‘ I say. ‚And more dragons!‘
